Election 2024: Campaign Roundup - Day 15

Welcome to Day 15 of our Saskatoon 2024 Campaign Roundup!

With the 2024 municipal election underway, we'll be bringing you daily updates on all the policy proclamations, platform promises, and political point-scoring from the campaign trail.

As always, our work is entirely funded by donations from residents just like you, so if you appreciate the updates, please consider making a one-off donation or signing up as a supporter for just $10 a month - that's just 36 cents per email!

Campaign Roundup - Day 15:

  • This is our last Daily Campaign Roundup email, as tomorrow is Election Day! We hope you found these emails helpful and enjoyed hearing all the news from the campaign trail! If you appreciated the insight and would like to support our efforts on an ongoing basis, please consider signing up as a Common Sense Saskatoon supporter for just $10 a month. Our work is entirely funded by voluntary donations, so we greatly appreciate the support.

  • Polls are open tomorrow from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Voters must cast ballots at their designated polling station, which can be found here. However, Market Mall and City Hall are both Super Polls - which means that any voter can vote at these locations regardless of the ward they live in.

  • A bus trip to and from your polling station is free on Election Day for all voters. You must download, take a picture, screenshot, or print out the pass provided by Saskatoon Transit in order to ride for free.

  • If you are still an undecided voter, there are a variety of resources you can use to research the candidates. The Saskatoon Star-Phoenix published a look at the candidates, Global News shared video interviews with the mayoral candidates, and the City’s website also provides information.

  • The Saskatoon Star-Phoenix spoke with some candidates about the 2020 Saskatoon civic election. It was memorable not only for pandemic restrictions, but also for a severe storm that led to a historic election day delay. Freezing rain, high winds, and snow struck the city, complicating an already challenging voting process amid COVID-19. So far, the weather looks alright for tomorrow!
